One more thing ... My Club will be having three one week trips a year until 2029 and I'll be busy until Halloween. With Thanksgiving and Christmas coming my way ... my presence here will be nil. What kind of club is this, mecha? Hope you have fun! It's a club that devoted to travel and I'm going to be gone pretty much from January to September every year and we are planning two trips a year and other side trips too. I'm not going to be here at all and will be inactive most of the time and spending more time with it. Every year is different and making the most of it. We'll be going on cruises, travel to England, and visiting places that the group wanted to go. I'll be having a ball with it and it's 198 members strong and every member is devoted to it.

Safe travels! Be careful about posting your travel plans on the internet. It can invite people to rob your home while you are away, if they can figure out who/where you are. Sound advice.

Hey, gang, just wanted to give you a heads-up that I'm going to MIA for the next two weeks as I hustle to turn in the Introduction and Chapter 1 of the new book by Thanksgiving. I'll be back that weekend, though, to announce this year's Classic Comics Christmas theme.
Cei-U! I summon the mini-sabbatical!

If it made it into the 50s, I never saw one on an actual kid. Spanky wore one (sans copter) in the Little Rascals/ Our Gang shorts from the 30s and 40s, and there was Beany of Beany and Cecil, the cartoon show, which started in the early 50s, IIRC, but I don’t think they ever — you should pardon me — took off among real live kids in the late 50s/ early 60s.

Confessor ... My Mom wanted to get one for me and I told her that I will not wear it because it is the silliest headgear to be ever worn on a child. Something like the little tot in this picture here. I hate Beanies and still do.

I don't remember ever seeing a propeller beanie in real life. Seems like it was a brief fad that lived on in pictures because it was a good visual - kind of like Jughead's "whoopee cap".

I've seen a propeller beanie, because I had one - when I was in my early twenties. Bought it in a novelty shop and would occasionally wear it for humorous effect (like when I had to get my picture taken for a company ID/card-key). But yeah, I never saw one in real life, worn by actual small children - although I grew up in the '70s and '80s, well after their supposed initial heyday.

I started posting there shortly after I started law school. So I've had a lot of imaginary friends for a long time.
