So is that how the 3 trilogies are going to be referred to from now on, as the "Skywalker Saga"?
I don't recall hearing them described as such over the decades until about 3-4 months ago and I'm already irritated by it.

But there's already so much "Star Wars" beyond those nine films. The other films, the TV shows... rewatching the Boba Fett cartoon from 1978, even it works as canon still.

Yes, true... but I’d say there’s the actual Star Wars, and then there are derivative products (cartoons, spin-offs and the like). The main arc remains the “actual” Star Wars story for me. Plus the Holiday special.

In the earliest days of Star Wars publishing (1976-1980), the banner "From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker" was used as the over-arching title and, personally, I always kinda liked it. So, I suppose "The Skywalker Saga" is more or less the same thing, only now referring to Anakin and Luke this time.

I still have the original Star Wars novel by Lucas from '77 and it says that on the cover and the inside title page. It does sound cool and I guess was another nod to the pulp/serial origins of the franchise. However, I'd rather this new description been created and used by the fans first. All 'Skywalker Saga' sounds like to me is yet another crass merchandising ploy by the Mouse to make more money.

But I get your point.

I think the "Skywalker Saga" works perfectly to encapsulate the 9 Episodes that follow the 3 Generations of the family. It'll helpful for the future as they move away from the Legacy characters and simply into stories set in the same Galaxy.

Just finished watching this show and thought it was great fun. Best Star Wars related thing I've seen since Rogue One, for sure. Solid story, good characters, first-rate production values (everything looked good, the space ships, costumes, sets, etc). And a huge bonus for me was the presence of Gina Carano - I'm glad I avoided reading too much about the show beforehand because I didn't even know she was in it, so it was a great and pleasant surprise for me when her character appeared on screen.
(edit:) just noticed that I didn't even give the name of the show I was talking about, but I suppose it was obvious to any Star wars fan: The Mandalorian

She was great and I hope she's in it more in the second season. Yeah, I'm a fan and have tried to see everything she's done, even the straight to video stuff - none of which is very good, I'm sorry to say, not even in the way some B or lower-grade action movies can be good fun, like the early van Damme ones, for example. This is by far the best role she's ever had, that I've seen - best character to play, best work of her own, and best film or show overall.
I should rephrase what I said in my earlier post, because I think this might be the only SW thing I've seen since Rogue One: I'd say this and Rogue One are from one POV the best SW related projects I've watched since the original trilogy.
I say from one POV because the prequels, as flawed as they are, did at least evoke a sense of epic grandeur at times, visually and in terms of the overall narrative if in no other way, that raises it to another level compared to these less ambitious stories.

Is that pretty indicative of the animation style in previous seasons? I thought when I gave it a look a while back it seemed a bit more cartoonish in the way the human characters' faces were done, which is one reason I never watched any of them.
