This is why I do not deal in collecting comics for monetary value. In fact, as long as the comic is held together well enough to read, and any marks aren't on words, then that is awesome enough for me. In fact, the more worn, the better. I want a book that has been loved, touched, read a million and one times, has notes jotted down up top or on the back, and a coffee stain. Whatever. Give it to me so that I can love it, too. Just no gross things on it. You mean, like a Liefeld cover? **Ba-dum TSSSS!** It's funny because it's TRUE!

The infamous "shall Jason Todd live or die" issue I bought had a clipping from the local newspaper of the previous owner that had the called in results for those that participated in the poll. Don't remember where exactly, pretty sure the east cost somewhere, but that was something of a nice surprise.

He's just a jerk red headed villain ruining it for the rest of us red heads. Bah. Hey, that's like me saying Namor looks like Mr. Spock in a speedo. Admit it, you are conceptualizing that.

I do. I'll snap a shot of it and post it when I get home. Thank you! Cannot wait to see it! I thought I could save you time and repost the scan you made for the Batman review thread ages back at CBR, but when I archived the page, it only saved the thumbnail version. Still, here it is if you want it: classiccomics.boards.net/post/7707/thread

Thanks for all the input. I took your advice and let Tomb of Dracula #10 ride. Another offer came in last night, and I'm confident I'll reach my asking price. It was a fun exercise, but selling comics to anonymous buyers is tedious and wearying. It will be a while before I attempt it again on any grand scale.

So no luck on the Gotham Central HCs... I put in a $62 bid in (I was willing to pay $2 extra to not wait for the Omni) but I got sniped at the end. On the plus side, I apparently bought the 1st TPB at some point, which I have 0 recollection of, so I can read that and see if I still want the whole series Some times things just work out.

I just saw 3 of the Amazing Spider-Man bronze-age 30c variant covers listed for $199.99 in VF....with best offers accepted. Okay, so there's room to play ball, as those aren't exactly cheap on any day in high-grade...
...but why does a US seller want $28.00 inland shipping?

There are many who include a handling charge in the shipping price. It's not the norm any more, but it was at one point. Are the books slabbed? The flat rate box he would most likely use for priority to fit 3 slabbed books with padding was $22 last time I was at the post office. Same box for international would be over $40 from the USPS. USPS volume is way down because of competition but their rates keep going up. -M

So I'd expect shipping to be anywhere up to $8.00....but $28.00?

A flat rate box (not envelope) from USPS to fit 3 comics with protection will run you $12 and change(envelope would be about $6 but you can't fit a lot of protection in one of those envelopes to keep the books in the grade they are in). First class is now almost as much as priority and most post offices I have been to recently are really strict about no comics in medial mail. Not sure how he gets to $28 though, that's a lot of handling fees. -M
