She was so good on the Mary Tyler Moore Show and had great rapport and chemistry with Ted Knight pictured below. And, I also loved her in Everybody Loves Raymond too.

Just a warm, sweet wonderfully funny and talented lady. She was a heck of a dancer, too, which she showed off in one episode of MTM.

R.I.P. Kazuo Koike, co-creator and writer of Lone Wolf and Cub. He was 82. -M Also writer of Crying Freeman, Lady Snowblood, Samurai Executioner, and also wrote the film script for Lady Snowblood (one of the influences on Kill Bill). He was preceded in death by Goseki Kojima, who died in 2000. He apprenticed under Takao Saito, on his series, Golgo 13 (one of Japan's most popular manga, historically), before writing his own stories. He also, notably, started the Gekiga Sonjuku, a college level course designed to train manga artists. Among his graduates were Rumiko Takahashi (Ranma 1/2), Hideyuki Kikuchi (Vampire Hunter D), and Tetsuo Hara (Fist of the Northstar), among many others.

According to the GCD, comic creator Greg Theakston passed away today (yesterday as I type) 4/22 at the age of 65. I usually associate Theakston with Kirby, but he had a wide and varied career in comics.

He did the movie poster for Invaders from Mars (1986), a guilty pleasure. 65 is too young.

I am seeing reports that Michael Davis, co-founder of Milestone Media, took his own life this morning. His family shared it on his facebook page and several industry folks have shared the news.
RIP Michael and my thoughts to your family and friends left behind.

Seems like it was. Rich Johnston of Bleeding Cool apparently talked to Davis this morning when Davis called him when he woke to find he had been reported dead. someone apparently hacked his social media, posed as a family member and reported his suicide and posted the obit. I am glad Michael Davis is alive and well, but to put his friends and family through that is just a despicable horrific act. -M edit here's a link to the BC update

RIP John Singleton. He had been on life support since suffering a stroke last week, but passed today (there were premature reports of his passing that were removed, but he did pass later in the day).

At one point, Singleton was in talks to direct Black Panther, back in the 90s. Didn't happen; but, apparently, he and Wesley Snipes (who was to star and sounds like might have been a producer) didn't see eye to eye. Sounds like Singleton was more interested in exploring a connection to the militant movement, rather than the superhero (according to Snipes).
