RIP Stanley Donen, director of my all-time favorite movie "Singin' in the Rain." If I had a flag, it would be flying at half-mast today. Cei-U! Moses supposes his toeses are roses! That is my wife's all-time favorite movie too (and Gene Kelly is her favorite actor). She told me about this last night, and she was torn, because she wanted to watch this in tribute even though we had already promised our daughters we would watch "Black Panther" (they're trying to get caught up on all of the MCU so they can see "Captain Marvel" and "Endgame" in the theaters). I'm assuming she will put it on sometime in the next day or two when she has a chance.

So much to love and be awed by in that movie. I could live without the long "Gotta Sing" number, but it's as nigh perfect as a movie gets. It was released ten days after Debbie Reynolds 20th birthday. She was 19 when she made that film. And had never danced before. She was a gymnast, but not a dancer.

And she holds her own side-by-side with some major dancing talent. Impressive!

Takes me back to college. Must have been relatively young.

Sad to hear. While Pat Priest is more associated with Marilyn, I liked Beverly Owen's portrayal as well. A beautiful lady indeed.

One of my favorites ... Loved her in Everybody Loves Raymond as Debra's Mother and as Doris Sherman in Coach.

R.I.P. Keith Flint. not a huge Prodigy fan, but I do have several albums by them, and Flint's distinctive delivery is a loss. and sad, in that it was apparently a suicide Not their best song, but a good one, and has Flint front and center. so a good memorium:

That came as a shock; he was so young still. He was a great Fred Andrews. Seemed to be a really good guy too.
