I read that a drive in near me will be reopening to screen this, and I think the novelty of that might just be the only thing that gets me to go see in theatres. I mean, I'm a completionist, I'll see it eventually regardless but after the first two I wasn't about to go rushing off to see it opening weekend. That's pretty much my take on it. The completionist in me will eventually compel me to see it, but I won't be in any hurry to do so. Most likely I'll rent it on Amazon Video eventually. That's the same thing I did with the last one.

I'll see it opening day to avoid spoilers and because I know I'll enjoy it far more in the theater surrounded by cheering crowds, but my excitement is nonexistent. My opinions of Force Awakens and Last Jedi have both fallen significantly since I first saw them.
Force Awakens I always had problems with, but more and more I've come to realize just how terrible a job it did at setting up the new story, establishing the new characters, and bringing anything memorable to the franchise. With the 'new Star Wars' sheen gone it's incredibly bland and gives me no reason to rewatch anything from it. It is the only Star Wars movie I never have the desire to watch a single scene from on Youtube.
As a movie I still very much like The Last Jedi. The cinematography is great. Mark Hamil gives the best live-action performance of his life, it has plenty of standout and gorgeous character moments and actual themes. While I was originally of the mindset that this film should not be blamed for problems created by its immediate predecessor, the fact that it did not fix the problems inherent in the setup of the conflict with the First Order and the character of Rey do bring it down somewhat and maans that the trilogy as a whole can't be salvaged.
Going into Rise of Skywalker, I have very little interest in the story because Rey carries no interest for me and Luke will be just a ghost. I'm mildly interested in the Emperor's return and seeing if Vader/Anakin makes some return as well, because otherwise the first 2 trilogies become completely pointless. Ultimately, what I want out of this movie is the sort of gorgeous scenes Last Jedi had like the red salt duel and the light-speed ramming. I'm not there for anything else anymore.

I found TFA incredibly uninspired, which made it a tedious watch, but I was willing to cut it some slack, thinking it wasn't very good but had the potential to generate a good sequel which would've made up for its faults, especially with Abrams out of the picture and a new filmmaker at the reins.
Then came TLJ. In spite of reading all the spoilers there were to read on that movie and being completely repulsed by what I read, in the last surge of optimism I had for this franchise, I decided to watch it anyway once it hit Netflix, hoping perhaps I could glean some enjoyment/appreciation from it as its own entity apart from the original films. Some 40-odd minutes in I shut it off, driven completely to frustrated boredom, and never returned to it.
I won't be watching TROS. I read the so-called plot leaks, and they seem to line up pretty well with what's been shown in the trailers. If true to any extent, the ST is beyond a shadow of a doubt a nihilistic abomination. If by some minor miracle they aren't true, I still won't see this. I'm not a completionist. A satisfying Sequel Trilogy in the form of the Thrawn Trilogy already exists; I have no use for this pedestrian, directionless, narcissistic, insulting cowpie.

Man, he first episode of the Mandalorian was pretty fantastic. I'm really hoping the reveal of just what the bounty was for makes the show into a kind of play on Lone Wolf and Cub because that would be awesome.

I'm debating if I want to give Disney money or not, or wait until the entire series is out there and get a free trial How's the other content?

I'm just exploring it now and it seems pretty good so far, definitely worth the cost in my mind. Some of the gaps are a little weird like they have all the direct to DVD Whinnie the Pooh movies but not the original. Possibly licencing issues? And some of the menus freeze but I imagine that's due to crazy amounts of people accessing it on the first day but the content itself runs fine.

I thought it was pretty awesome and I’ve hated pretty much everything Star Wars related that’s come after the original trilogy. The prequels were all terrible, I thought TFA was “meh”, Rogue One was just straight up Star Wars porn with no interesting characters IMO and I didn’t even bother with Solo or The Last Jedi. Don’t have any interest in Rise of Skywalker either. But this has me interested to the point where I’m actually excited about the next episode on Friday.

I don't want to get too excited about seeing them do Lone Wolf and Cub, because I've been burned by that before (I'm looking at you, Into the Badlands), but that would be all kinds of awesome.
Leaning towards waiting until it's all out and watching as free trial though.. just so many streaming services now!

Leaning towards waiting until it's all out and watching as free trial though.. just so many streaming services now! I went with the package deal that Disney offers. Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ for $12.99 a month. That’s still cheaper than Netflix alone. And 90% of Netlix’ library is chock full of crap that I won’t even glance twice at while I’m flipping through. I mean honestly, most of the movies they offer wouldn’t even be up to Redbox standards. So far, I’m loving it. The wife and daughter love all of the Pixar movies and Disney animated classics, and they have plenty of stuff I love like Willow, Return to Oz, the early 90’s X-Men animated series, etc. And that’s just the Disney+ side of it. Hulu has tons of stuff to offer. ESPN+ was an added bonus for me just due to the exclusive UFC events that they show.

I've been loving the live action Disney movies from the 50's and 60's, those were a huge part of my childhood so getting them again is amazing.

The wife and oldest were watching the original Parent Trap when I got home from work today. I sat down and watched about 30 minutes before dinner. Was probably the first time I’ve seen any of it since the late 70’s.

They should’ve given the new trilogy to Favreau. I'd definitely be down with a trilogy by Fav and Fioni, they really get what makes Star Wars fun. As an aside, I love the Mandalorian's theme. Music has always been a big part of my love of Star Wars and this is definitely a worthy addition to that list of greats. It's perhaps not as powerful as the Imperial March or the theme for the Opening Crawl but it has a unique feel that fits the show perfectly.
